5 minute apple rose (vegan) cinnamon rolls

apple rose cinnamon rolls

That’s right. Today I bring you 5 minute apple rose (vegan) cinnamon rolls! These cinnamon rolls are made with whole grains and a serving of fruit so they make for a great breakfast option. Just throw in some protein for a more balanced breakfast 😉

this recipe is actually a variation of my 5 minute pumpkin cinnamon rolls (recipe and video here). It remains one of my most popular recipes so I thought it would be fun (and delicious) to make a variation of it with apples. And I was right. it was fun and delicious.

Cinnamon rolls can be a little confusing to make so I filmed a “how-to” video for you guys to follow along with. The video and the full recipe will be posted below! pro tip: for a caramel apple cinnamon roll, add in some date caramel 😉

5 minute Apple rose (vegan) cinnamon rolls – makes 5-6 minis

cinnamon rolls
– 1/2 cup pumpkin purée (or baked sweet potato)
– 3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gf option: 3/4 cup gf oat flour +1-2 tbsp coconut flour)
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 1 tsp vanilla
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– 1 tsp cinnamon

Apple filling
– 1 Apple, cut into apple slices
– bowl of water

In a medium sized bowl combine ingredients to make the cinnamon rolls. Use your hands to fully combine all the ingredients and form a dough. Roll out dough into a small rectangle as thin as you can get it. set aside to prepare your apple filling. cutt the apple into thin slices. Place in a bowl of water (make sure the apple slices are covered with water) then microwave 3-4 min until Apple is soft and pliable. Let cool. Cut off a thin strip of dough then line up a few Apple slices on the strip. Lay the apple slices partly on top of one another so they are inter lapping. Starting from one edge of the strip, roll up the dough like a cinnamon roll. Place on a large plate. Repeat process with the rest of the dough. Once finished microwave cinnamon rolls for 2-3 minutes until fully cooked. Then enjoy!

Note: The gf option listed in the recipe has worked in several of my 5 minute recipes however I have not tried it in this recipe specifically. If you try it out, be sure to let me know how it works for you.
