Nutrition Thursday: Product Review – PbCrave

groupshot_arrangedI have seen this peanut butter’s floating around on instagram for quite some time but never got around to trying them until now. Pb Crave was kind enough to send me all 4 flavors pictured above so I could do a review. I don’t even know where to start with these peanut butters. Let’s start with the delicious sounding flavors:

Choco choco: semi sweet and dark chocolate combine with peanut butter and honey for this magically delicious flavor. reminiscent of a reese’s peanut butter cup, this one was one of my faves!

Coco Bananas: a tropical blend of banana, chocolate, and peanut butter. i don’t think it gets much better than that. these flavors were meant to be together!

Razzle dazzle: A delicious combination of raspberries, honey, white chocolate, and peanuts!

Cookie nookie: chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter? i think i’ve died and gone to heaven. this flavor was so good! my absolute favorite of the bunch. if you try any of these peanut butters, try this one!

Nutritionally, these aren’t the healthiest peanut butters since they are made with extra ingredients like sugar and chocolate so, as with anything else, it’s best to practice moderation. peanut butter does offer some protein, fiber and heart healthy monounsaturated fats but this peanut butter also offers some sugar so be sure to stick to the recommended serving size of a spoonful or two as opposed to eating half the jar in one sitting which I may or may not have been tempted to do myself. 2 tbsp, for all flavors, offered about 180 calories, 15g total fat (3.5 g saturated), 130mg sodium, 2g fiber, 5g sugar, and 6g protein. Pro tip: for future reference, when choosing peanut butter or nut butters; pay attention to sugar, fat, and sodium. Most people get plenty of these in the rest of their foods so when it comes to pb, try to limit them to 3 grams sugar, 3 grams saturated fat, and 140 mg per 2 tbsp, respectively.
