5 ingredient apple, nut, oat bars


So I promised I would make an effort to update my blog more often and I’m determined to keep my word. So today I bring you a super simple recipe that is packed with nutrition and yumminess. All you need are a few ingredients that you most likely already have on hand, a food processor, and a freezer.

(vegan, raw, dairy free, can be made gluten free)

Makes 10-12 bars
2 cups diced apples of choice (I used red delicious and, um…, a green apple? I’m not sure what type it was lol)
3 cups oats
3 tbs flax seed
1/2 cup almonds/peanuts (I just used a combination of each)
1/2 cup raisins

1) throw your apples and raisins into your food processor and pulse a few times. Add in your oats, flax, and nuts. Mix well until the mixture starts to clump together.
2) transfer to an 8×8 pan. Push the mixture into the pan until smooth and even. Cut into bars and then freeze.

These bars remind me of,the kind bars you can buy at the store. You could easily add some protein powder to up the protein if desired. Seeds would also make a nice addition. Feel free to experiment with different flavors. I know I will be.
