One of my favorite things about Halloween (other than eating an obscene amount of candy on Halloween) is the chance to watch Halloween themed movies. I’m sure we all have our own favorites and traditions so I thought it would be fun to share mine.
They aren’t all necessarily Halloween themed but for me they are best watched during the fall months and leading up to Halloween.
So in really no particular order, here are a few of my favorite Halloween movies
- Legend of the guardians: the owls of ga Hoole
- Harry potter (all 8 movies)
- lord of the rings trilogy
- chocolat
- coraline
- hocus pocus (I looooved this one as a kid; I watch it every year both for pleasure and that nostalgic feeling I get whenever I watch it)
- the librarian: curse of the judas chalice
- the corpse bride
- the princess and the frog (I’m not sure why I like this one at Halloween; for me it just has that spooky vibe to it)
- red riding hood
- the covenant
- interview with a vampire
- the brothers Grimm
- Dracula 2000 (so I can’t say I actually like watching the whole movie since I’ve never seen the whole movie. I tend to multitask when I watch movies. But I can say I at least like the first half of this movie)
There are also a few tv shows I like to watch around fall/Halloween:
- vampire diaries
- once upon a time (this one I just discovered but I’m really liking it so far)
- pushing daisies

hahah yay! I’m not the only one who likes the spooky Halloween films that aren’t ridiculously scary! I love scary horror films too, but these are just more Halloween-ish to me

Lol glad to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t like ridiculously scary movies at Halloween. I’m a total scaredy cat and seriously think there are people in my house waiting to murder me after I watch scary movies.
Hahah ok I can watch some horror films, but some seriously freak me out. Paranormal Activity, I was fine. the second one terrified me for some reason and even though Insidious was semi-cheesy, there was just something about it that scared the living daylights out of me. My boyfriend loves that stuff though so I roll with the punches! I miss horror of the 1990s lol. I enjoyed that kind of horror flick. Now it’s so shock value or psychological. I will stick with my happy Halloween films thank you! haha. Nice that I’m not alone

Oh god the ring seriously scared the crap out of me when I first saw it (I think I was like 16). It took me like 8 years before I could watch it again lol I’m not really one for horror movies although every once in a great great while I get a hankering (yes, I said hankering) for a good scary flick.
ME TOO. Lol ew when she comes out of the TV. Horrified. maybe I’m a glutton for punishment. I watched that movie so many times. Lol. Another that really freaked me out was Gothika. Lol, you said hankering. I am immature. x
